A new method of treating thatch grass and thatch reed has been developed and patented. The process is based on the impregnation of grass/reed and other similar products with an innovative new product called THATCHBOR, a combination of biological preservative and fire retardent.

Thatchbor is a pateneted product and has received commercial international success.

The decay and decomposition of thatch is a natural process. The borate component of Thatchbor , a well known preservative, delays this process.

The innovative aspect of Thatchbor is the treatment process. The wax layer on the surface of the grass/reed system prevents absorption of treatment products into the grass/reed stem. Thatchbor has been specifically designed for impregnation, which facilitates the penetration of Thatchbor right into the heart of grass/reed stem thus providing full treatment of the grass/reed.

Once Thatchbor has been impregnated into the grass/reed stem the effects of leaching are minimal and the protection is permanent.
